Big Day Blunder: Any dip, any miss, any mistake that may have cost time, or heaven forbid a species.

Big Day Magic: Those glorious moments that you never thought could ever be possible in a million days of birding. E.g. An endangered species voluntarily shows itself, lucky flybies, or virtually any rarity that wasn’t previously known. It’s those rare moments where everything just falls into place. Big Day Magic.

“We’re Birding” (first call): Code for – “Excuse me  folks, but I believe we’ve observed this idyllic specimen long enough and we best be going.”

“We’re Birding…” (second call): “uhhhh, we gotta go”

“We’re still Birding…” (third call): “car drives away without you”
